Miniature painters have access to thousands of paints from a growing number of manufacturers. Finding the right colour, however, often still means relying on paint names, printed charts, web images or recommendations based largely on personal experience. Paint Lab was created to provide another way.
By combining independently measured paint data with perceptual colour science, Paint Lab aims to make paints searchable and comparable according to their colour characteristics.
The goal is not to replace artistic judgement. It is to provide painters with better information.
Paint Lab is developed by the Chroma Institute.
